Erasmus + Staff Mobility for Teaching at Telavi State University in Georgia

From May 18–22, 2026, Dr. Anna Rój conducted classes for students of English Philology at Telavi State University in Georgia.

“Participating in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching programme was yet another valuable experience in my professional career. It gave me the opportunity not only to discover a new country – Georgia – but also to become acquainted with the rich culture and history of its remarkably friendly people.

The main purpose of the mobility was to teach students of English Philology at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University. The lectures focused on American literature, methodology and didactics of teaching English, translation theory, and bilingual translation of texts (Spanish–English) based on contemporary Latin American literature.

I had the opportunity to gain further teaching experience and to establish friendly relations with lecturers from the host university.

In my free time, I tried to broaden my general knowledge by visiting nearby villages and towns, tourist attractions, and memorial sites. The unspoiled nature, together with the freedom to enjoy its beauty and abundance, revealed yet another face of Georgia, whose diversity is truly captivating.

I wholeheartedly encourage the entire academic community to take advantage of the wide range of mobility opportunities available, as it has long been known that travel not only educates, but also broadens one’s horizons.

I invite you to enjoy a short photo report that offers a glimpse into these picturesque places.”
