Social work is the seventh field of study in the didactic offer of the State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów, after which you can get a master’s degree. This year’s recruitment, which has lasted for several weeks, is the first during which Bachelor’s graduates can enroll in a Master’s degree in this field. Appropriate approvals have already been issued by both the Polish Accreditation Committee and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Social work deals with issues related to helping other people. It is an interdisciplinary field of study that draws on the disciplines of the social sciences: sociology, social policy, pedagogy, psychology, economics, law and others dealing with functioning in society.
The study program is strongly embedded in practice and is a response to the challenges and needs of social changes taking place in Poland and the region. The field of social work is the only field of study that prepares students to pursue the regulated profession of a social worker

Graduates will be equipped with the necessary and up-to-date knowledge, will acquire the required skills and acquire social competences necessary for the regulated profession of social worker.
Finally, let us add that the other fields of study in which you can get a master’s degree in Tarnów are: Physiotherapy (long-cycle studies), Polish Philology (second-cycle studies), Administration (second-cycle studies), Nursing (second-cycle studies), Pedagogy (studies second-cycle), Physical education (second-cycle studies).
In addition, the Polish Accreditation Committee is currently examining two more applications from the PWSZ for second-cycle studies in the fields of Economics and Chemical Technology. PKA also pending an application from the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnów for permission to start first-cycle studies in the field of Obstetrics.
