On June 1, enrollment for studies at the State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów for the academic year 2020/2021 will start. The university has introduced several important changes that will make it easier for everyone to get an index in the field of their dreams. The most important corrections to the recruitment regulations concern the extension of the applicable deadlines and the resignation from conducting entrance exams and interviews in the fields of study in which they have been conducted so far.
The introduction of changes, already approved by the PWSZ Senate, is a consequence of the epidemic situation we have been in since March. – The corrections were necessary mainly due to the change in the date of the secondary school-leaving examination and the “postponement” of the matura calendar by more than a month – explains Dr. Małgorzata
Martowicz, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Teaching at PWSZ. –
Our overriding goal is to make life easier for future students as much as possible, of course ensuring all standards – both those relating to the regulations and security
adds Vice-Rector Martowicz, emphasizing that the changes are in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Safe, that is on-line
Since 2008, PWSZ has been using the Electronic Recruitment of Candidates system during the recruitment process, which simplifies the procedure as much as possible. Everything takes place remotely, the first visit to the university walls is necessary only after receiving information about admission to studies. Nothing will change in this respect. – The system will start on June 1 and you will be able to log into it from midnight, starting your application for studies – explains Vice-Rector Martowicz.
What is extremely important, this year’s high school graduates can also log in to the system, even before the secondary school-leaving examination or before receiving its results.
If they pass the registration procedure, the results of their baccalaureate will go to the PWSZ Electronic Candidate Registration system directly from the National Baccalaureate Register. – This means that our future students do not have to wait for the results, they can start the procedure on June 1. In the first round of recruitment, the system will be open to candidates until August 18
adds Dr. Martowicz.
Persons who pass the registration procedure in the Electronic Candidate Registration system will receive information about whether they have been qualified for admission by August 24 at the latest. However, they must remember about the obligation to enroll in studies. Registration after the first round of recruitment will be conducted from August 27 to September 4.
The second round will start on September 21 and will last until October 2. – We must give everyone a chance, including those who will be passing the resit examinations. With them in mind, on September 21, we will again launch the Electronic Candidate Registration system – explains Dr. Martowicz.
After closing the system, the procedure will be the same as during the first recruitment. Candidates qualified for admission will be informed about it by October 7, and they will have to enroll in the studies between October 8 and 14. – Please do not be afraid that it will happen two weeks after the start of the academic year. Due to the exceptional situation, the Ministry allows and even recommends such a solution,
says Dr. Martowicz.
No exams
This year’s recruitment will be the first in many years, during which there will be no entrance exams and interviews in any of the fields of study. In previous years, it was the norm in: Physical Education, Nursing, Graphics and Design. – This is another case of following the already mentioned ministerial recommendations – explains Małgorzata Martowicz. The lack of exams means that the admission criterion will be the results of the matriculation examination – in the case of enrollment in first-cycle studies and the results of the diploma examination – in the case of enrollment in second-cycle studies.
I strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with our extremely rich didactic offer and, of course, I cordially invite you to study at the State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów. We provide not only high quality of education, confirmed many times by the Polish Accreditation Committee, but also an attractive scholarship system, social support, the opportunity to develop passion in one of several dozen student organizations, and finally a chance to practice sports in one of the best AZS in the country
says p.o. Rector, dr hab. Józef Kania, prof. PWSZ.
The recruitment fee paid by candidates for studies in all faculties is PLN 85, the same as last year.
