From May 25–29, 2026, as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility programme, Dr. Ketevan Shashviashvili, Associate Professor of Telavi State University (Georgia), delivered a series of lectures and workshops for students at the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnow, combining intercultural education with Tourism Business English. Students explored the culture and traditions of Georgia, including its unique alphabet, winemaking heritage, and traditional cuisine, while also developing professional tourism-related vocabulary and communication skills through collaborative ESP activities. The sessions featured interactive tasks, live polls, group work, and a tasting of Churchkhela – Georgian national sweet, creating an engaging and memorable intercultural learning experience.
The visiting professor took part in a meeting with the Rector and the Vice-Rector of UAS in Tarnow to discuss further collaboration between the two universities. She also had time to explore the city of Tarnow and its surroundings, as well as to take a guided tour of Cracow’s main tourist attractions.
