On September 7, 2023, the 1st International Oncology Conference “Humanistic aspects of cancer care” was held. It was organized by the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Care, University of Applied Sciences in Tarnów. The conference was of a hybrid nature. The aim of the conference was to disseminate knowledge about modern clinics, cancer treatment, prognosis options depending on the stage of the disease, but above all, to show the process of illness and recovery as a path that, although often medically difficult, thanks to a holistic approach to the treatment process and the involvement of not only specialists from various areas, but also the patient and his or her relatives, may prove easier to recover.
